Maurice, a founding principal and managing partner, specializes in workers’ compensation defense.
Maurice began his legal career as a chief negotiator in the high-risk unit of State Farm Insurance’s legal department, overseeing all claims, including auto liability. After relocating to Missouri from the East Coast, Maurice was appointed by Governor Ashcroft to serve as an Associate Administrative Law Judge at the St. Louis Division of Workers’ Compensation. Following his service to the State of Missouri, Maurice accepted an invitation to join a large defense firm and within three years was offered a partnership.
After transitioning to his own private practice, Maurice founded a successful law firm, specializing in medical malpractice and personal injury defense. He then went on to become a founding member of Simon & Early, P.C., and during his decade there, was instrumental in turning the firm into one of the most successful workers’ compensation defense firms in the area. He then transitioned his practice to co-found Early & Miranda, P.C. in January, 2008, which has become one of the premier boutique workers’ compensation defense firms in the area.
Maurice additionally has an extensive background as a lecturer and moderator in legal symposiums throughout Missouri and the nation.
He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and Mound City Bar Association. Beyond his professional affiliations, Maurice is a dedicated advocate for children aging out of the foster care system and is a board member of the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition.
